There are a few issues related to Human Resource. So I will share with all of you that read my blog 10 common issues in Human Resources.
For this week I would like to share about management issues.
The eighth issues that I have recently read is from New Straits Times (NST). Based on what I have read in paper shows that management issues can lead to bigger problem.
It is possible that a management problem was the root reason of the failure of the LRT, which is the topic of this article. There were sixteen stations along the Kelana Jaya Line that were need to be halted from 9 November to 15 November, and around two million passengers were impacted by this decision. It has been hypothesized that the disruption in the LRT service may have been caused by either sabotage or an accumulation of management problems. There is a possibility that the disturbance was brought about by the carelessness of engineers or technicians. So that there is no disruption, it is necessary for them to make certain that everything works well. Additionally, the breakdown was caused by a management problem that had been building up over the course of many years, dating back to a very long period. As a result, RapidKL required a complete revamp in order to forestall the occurrence of such issues in the future. The replacement of the entire computer system with a compatible one as a result of the previous system is another method that may be utilised to enhance the system. Additionally, the board needs to take this indication seriously in order to prevent the return of a feature that is comparable in the future.
Impact :
Employee : More job to cover as the disruption make everyone at the LRT to work
harder to find the cause of the problem.
Performance : Low job performance as everyone need to cooperate with each other.
Organization : It can leads to errors, quality issues and more time consuming on repeating activities.
Solution :
Employee : Employees need to be more conscientiousness to help prevent the
issue from happening again.
Performance : Increase performance by always be motivated in doing daily work task.
Organization : Changing the systems according to current issue and overhauling the problems that had happened way before in RapidKL.
