Over half Malaysian workers burnt out
There are a few issues related to Human Resource. So I will share with all of you that read my blog 10 common issues in Human Resources.
For this week I would like to share about salary issues.
The sixth issues that I have recently read is from New Straits Times (NST). Based on what I have read in paper is about workers need demand for better pay.
Despite the fact that the minimum wage in Malaysia was raised from RM 1200 to RM 1500, the majority of Malaysian workers continue to be concerned about the growing cost of living and the lack of available workers. This article addresses these important problems. Malaysia had already been experiencing a problem with salaries that have been stagnant even before the epidemic. However, the growing inflation that has occurred without any meaningful increase in earnings has caused the employees to lose their ability to spend money quickly. The argument that the minimum wage is still not sufficient for workers to make ends meet and to be considered adequate living earnings has been made by a number of people, despite the fact that salaries have been increasing. In addition to this, the employees have lost their voices, which means that the odds of them receiving greater pay and improved working conditions to compensate for the wage gap and the rising cost of living are extremely low. As a result of the possibility that rising wages could also become an issue for smaller businesses, governments and business owners need to reach a consensus on the matter.
Impact :
Employee : Employees have low motivation and they tend to procrastinate their job.
Performance : Low employee performance because they think more about their living cost other than their official job.
Organization : It will reduce the employment opportunities for youths and create more unemployment because the salary given is not commensurate.
Solution :
Employee : Raise their voice to the company to give their wages based on the area they are working at.
Performance : Keep motivated to increasing the performance.
Organization : Company need to help employees to increase the salary by make an appropriate meeting with the government and discuss this issue more thorough.
