MEF refutes claims Malaysian workers not treated fairly

There are a few issues related to Human Resource. So I will share with all of you that read my blog 10 common issues in Human Resources.

For this week I would like to share about diversity issues.

The fourth issues that I have recently read is from New Straits Times (NST). Based on what I have read in paper is about workers that were not treated fairly.

Despite the fact that the Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) has refuted the assertions that social discrimination on the part of employers is driving Malaysians to seek employment in other countries, this article discusses the claims. They do not agree with the assertion that Malaysian workers were subjected to unjust treatment by their own nation. In addition to this, the head of the Malaysian Employees Federation (MEF) stated that Malaysia already has in place appropriate evaluation methods to track and evaluate the performance of employees. They were also of the opinion that some of the employees were promoted not on the basis of their talent but rather because of their connections. The president of the MEF also stated that in the event that any of the workers are subjected to discrimination at their place of employment, they have the ability to file a complaint with the Labour Department, and an inquiry would be conducted in order to guarantee that they are provided with justice. In addition to that, this article discusses the reasons why Malaysians are more likely to find employment outside of the country than in Malaysia itself. There are a number of reasons for this, including the attractive wage, the improved quality of life, and the availability of high-quality educational opportunities.

Impact :

Employee : Malaysian Employees tend to work abroad because they find that they will be treated fairly.

Performance : Low performance in quality of work as it affect employees mental health.

Organization : The company's name becomes bad because the company practices discrimination.

Solution :

Employee : Lodge complaint to Labour Department.

Performance : Take care of own mental health if currently experiencing discrimination at workplace.

Organization : Make sure there is no discrimination at work and make investigation if there is any.
